HOW TO MAKE SOAP WITH GLYCERINE

This method of soap making has become very popular because of the simplicity of making soap and the variety you can get.

MATERIALS FOR MAKING GLYCERINE SOAP

  • Bar of glycerine-based soap.
  • Colouring agent for glycerine
  • Glitter for glycerine
  • Aromatic essence
  • Silicone moulds, thermometer (optional).

HOW TO MAKE GLYCERINE SOAPS STEP BY STEP

1. CUT OUT WHAT WE ARE GOING TO USE FROM THE GLYCERINE STICK

Take the bar of glycerine-based soap, which is available in drugstores and speciality shops. Here you can get glycerine base. Estimate the amount you will need and cut the bar with a knife. Preferably cut it into squares for easier heating.

2. HEAT TO 60º.

Heat the part you have cut up to 60º. You can heat the glycerine in the microwave, or on a hot plate. It is advisable to have previously cut the glycerine into squares so that the heating can be faster. The glycerine becomes liquid at 60º so it is not necessary to heat it any more. In our case we have used a hot plate.

3. POUR IN THE ESSENCE AND COLOURING

Once the glycerine has melted, it is time to add the essences and the glycerine colouring. Here you can play as you like with colours and scents.

In our case we used blue colouring and glitter for cosmetics. Having made this soap with children, we wanted to give the soaps that magical touch.

This must be done quickly as glycerine solidifies relatively quickly.

4. POUR INTO SILICONE MOULDS

To make your soaps you have to choose the moulds that best suit your taste, depending on the purpose of the soap or if you are going to make it with children. In our case, as we have made it with children, we have chosen some teddy bear moulds. You can buy these silicone moulds in any supermarket, grocery shop, as they are the same ones used in confectionery. Here are some moulds.

5. LEAVE TO COOL

After 1-2 hours the soap will be formed and you can unmould it, ready to use!
