Category Experiments for children
Main product Gel pellets
Short description This time we have made some gel balls. It is not a very big experiment, but to do it with 2 children of 2 and 4 years old, it is better to do an activity as simple as this. They had a great time, and took their balls home as a souvenir. I don't think the balls lasted very long afterwards.

 EXPERIMENTAL MATERIALS

For this experiment you will only need some gel beads, which you can buy at Alquera

STEP-BY-STEP EXPERIMENT

This experiment was very simple, there is almost no need to say anything about the step-by-step:

  1. Take a few small balls. Be careful to take less than you think, as they take up a lot of space and you may run out of water.
  2. Put the balls in water and wait for them to absorb the water.

3. Watch the balls in the middle of the water absorption, to see how they are doing.

4. It takes a few hours until the pellets are completely full and have absorbed the water. Because of the refraction phenomenon, it will appear that they have not absorbed any water.

EXPLANATION

We have received some comments on this experiment. It should be noted that the experiment is conducted with a 2-year-old childDani. With children so young you can't expect them to have fun and to discover something new. Playing with these first experiments-games, they will discover and get to know a new world that you will be able to expand little by little. The result of the experiment is that both children had a great time and are looking forward to making balls again. Something very simple but which is magic for them.
